Equipment Required

1 pair of well broken in, healed, hunting boots such as: Meindle, Lowa or Kenetrek with Vibram soles especially if Tahr/Chamois hunting.
Please ensure that in your clothing you have one layer of clothing that is very warm and will protect you from icy winds and cold conditions and especially if hunting in late April, May or June.
1 very warm and waterproof jacket- a must
pair of snow gaiters – long gaiters that come up just under your knee - a must.
1 warm sweater warm hat for the wind and cold
1 light hat / cap for sunny weather hunting shirts Polar or micro fleece top
1 Polyprops or fine wool singlet or T shirt
1 pair shorts
1 pair long johns pair of hunting pants "dry-back' fleece trousers or like, (No jeans please)
1 pair warm gloves. warm socks Warm Scarf
Complete change of warm comfortable, clothing 1 pair of extra comfortable footwear
Binoculars
Sunglasses
Camera/Video camera (to capture images and/or footage of your adventure)
Casual clothes for around the lodge at night
Personal Items Keeping to a minimum clothing but covering all weathers is essential for your comfort and enjoyment.
Daily laundry also helps.

Transport Collection

From meeting you at Queenstown Airport when you arrive and delivery drive you back to the lodge and return to Queenstown at the end of the hunt, is all part of the contract. It is very important that you have informed us well prior to arrival, of arrival and departure details.

Firearms etc

Firearms Importing firearms into New Zealand is very easy and straight forward. Permit information will be supplied when booking your hunt. ASJ Trophy Hunting offers clients the use of their rifles while they are hunting in New Zealand. We at ASJ Trophy Hunting have a variety of firearms which hunters can choose from. We do not charge for the firearms use but we do ask hunters to bring ammunition
For our clients we usually use: 7mm Remington Magnums Average Shooting Distances: between 70 - 300 yards
Caliber Required: between 270 - 300 magnum
Firearms Permits/ Licences Firearm licence is required, obtainable when arriving in Auckland Airport. No permit is required for Bow Hunters. No hand guns are permitted to be used in New Zealand.
